About Helling Ink Media, LLC

The short version:

Julie A. Helling is an attorney and consultant who writes white papers for businesses that sell to the court system.  Julie started freelancing in 1997, drafting a training manual for attorneys.  As a college professor, she has had lots of practice making complex legal subjects easy to understand.  Her years as a trial lawyer and consultant mean she brings the expertise, ability to do research, and high quality writing you want to every project (but without the academic attitude).

The sordid details:

Always eager to write, Julie Helling majored in English at the University of Iowa, where she served as editor-in-chief of an undergraduate literary magazine.  She taught high school English for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger, West Africa.  Three years later she earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School.  Julie served as a law clerk for the Minnesota Court of Appeals before practicing law for years as a Minneapolis prosecutor.  She moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2000 to become a college professor, teaching law to undergraduates.  In 2014 Julie created Helling Ink to meet the increasing need for white paper writers who truly understand the legal system.

Bottom line:

You want a writer who is reliable, persuasive and easy to work with, and that’s what Julie brings to the table.
